little letters

Dear blog friends, I've been in such a slump when it comes to our dinner menu. I LOVE food and look forward to meal time, but it's extremely difficult for me to get motivated to cook something. How SAD! Usually my food board on pinterest gives me some inspiration for meal planning, but lately? Nothing is helping! So I was wondering if you'd tell me your FAVORITE recipe and help me spice up our dinner menu again?? Oh and... you guys are the BEST!

Dear feet, ummmm..... I've been experiencing some pain and discomfort from you two lately and I'm not okay with this. Are you shifting? Growing? Let's get something straight- I don't want you to get bigger! I love the shoes in my closet and if I have to replace them with shoes half a size bigger.... well I'll probably cry. Because I won't be able to afford it, ha ha. So just STOP whatever you're doing and stay the same forever, please!

Dear Fall, I am SO ready for you! The temperature, the clothes (even thought I won't be able to fit into mine), the scents, I want it all!!

Dear sciatica, you are the worst thing that has happened to pregnancy. Ouchy!!

Dear hair, I've been so tempted to just chop you off! Actually, if I'm being honest, I've even considered taking the clippers to my head and sporting the buzzed look ha ha! I really do love my hair and I still want it to grow a couple inches longer.... so please stop tempting me with cute, short hair styles! What do you think friends, keep growing it? Or do you want to see me with short hair? :)

Dear hubs, you are amazing! You've been such an amazing support system throughout this pregnancy. My love for you has grown in ways I didn't know was possible. I really am the luckiest.... I get to be with you for eternity! That's a long time to put up with your crap ;) But I'm not sure it's long enough to satisfy my love for you {insert gagging over my extreme cheesiness}. LOVE you, babe!
P.S. If my feet do grow because I'm carrying your child, can I use some of the money from our diaper fund to buy new shoes? No? That's selfish of me?! Dang.

I always regret cutting my hair after it happens (it always ends up being super high maintenance!). Besides, with the baby and all of the body changes it might be nice to have something very familiar.

I don't have a recipe to give you, but one of my favorite things to put on our dinner menu every few weeks is hot sandwiches. Basically, buy your favorite meats and cheeses and bake in the oven until everything is hot and melty. It's super easy, but tastes way better than just having a plain ol' sandwich. You can side it with whatever sounds good - we usually do salad or baked potato wedges.

I'm ready for fall too girl! Every August I get grouchy because I want it to cool off already!

I totally know what you mean, being stuck in a food rut. Here is my favorite recipe lately! http://emilyrosedowney.blogspot.com/2012/07/pad-thai.html

try it out!

I say keep your hair long. My SIL chopped her hair during her first pregnancy and she was instantly not happy with her decision.

One of my fave dinners is Ravioli Bake. I hate cooking so simple meals are what I look for. This one is super easy. Email me if you're interested.

Oh my gosh if I get pregnant and my feet grow, I will end with with boat sized feet. They're already big. Yikes.

As for short hair.... I'm getting used to mine. ;)

I'm sure your husband would love for you to buy some new shoes once your baby arrives. (:

My feet got bigger during my pregnancy but shrunk back afterwards, however I had stretched out so many of my shoes that now they are too big! It may be worth getting a couple pairs to just wear while pregnant.

I just posted a chocolate zuchinni cake recipe on my blog. Who said you can't have dessert for dinner?

You can totally rock short hair girl! I would love to see it! And, once baby girl comes along she's gonna LOVE pulling, grabbing, holding those long locks and earrings of yours! Shorter hair makes it easier. And if you are skeptikal, do a long a-line bob with front hitting your shoulder blades. So cute. SORRY your feet hurt. Derek says they will swell, but most likely not grow. Get some GOOD shoes to wear around the house. It sounds stupid, but it will SAVE your feet. Even for work. If you need any suggestions just ask him!

Cut it off! I just did and love it. So much easier. Besides us hairstylist are always changing are hair right/! :)

Don't cut your hair. I cut mine off about a month or so ago and I wish I didn't because there are styles I want to try but I don't have the hair anymore.

HOLY MOLY don't even get me started with my sciatica...it literally brought me to my knees in tears one day at work. If you want any help at all, you'll need some better support in your shoes and a good heating pad to sit on. That's the only thing that did it for me. I can at least cheer you up and say it does ease up a bit as you get further along.

Whew, the sciatica is horrible, try looking up some exercises and also walking, it hurts but works! I will have to follow you on Pinterest and "borrow" your ideas! Have a great weekend! :)

Ha! Too cute, I totally understand on the fall wishes and hair growing fiasco. I donated mine a few months ago and have a love/hate relationship with the growing out phase. Hope you feel better - all that pain is no fun at all!

I had to google whatever disease this baby has made you have.

Girl, that sucks.

I'm not giving you a recipe though. maybe tomorrow.

I'm excited for fall too! Is it here yet? Come on!

I'd say wait to cut your hair because when baby comes you aren't going to feel like doing your hair and there are SO many cute updo's/ ponytail styles (as, I am sure you know miss pretty hair stylist!) that are so much easier then on short hair!! :)

I have been in a dinner slump too! I have been making a lot of casseroles that I can just reheat through out the week or I make a bunch of chicken at the beginning of the week and then add them to things through out the week. This week we used chicken for quesadillas, nachos, pasta, bbq chicken sandwiches, and then with potatoes!

I'm for short hair....but not while you're pregnant! Trust me on this one. (no personal experience) but naturally your face is going to bloat a little bit, and you will feel like a whale in all other aspects of your body (even though to everyone else you will look cute!) and short hair will not help you. :) You're a hairstylist, you know what I mean.

I've been having the same problem with my hair! But I'm staying strong and growing it. It would be fun to see short hair on you, but I can relate to the growing it out! Kind of a pain.
As for recipes, I just posted one on my blog last night that was easy and tasty! I think if I just added turkey or pastrami it would even be better. Or taco salad or hawaiian haystacks are always kind of an easy fall back. Oooh or BLT's. Mmmm...

I want to see you rock the short hair!! It will always grow back if you don't like it! :) Love you!

Isn't sciatica the worst?! I still have it 9 months after my baby was born... :/

I had sciatica with holynd... bad! but it eased up with each pregnancy. hopefully you'll be the same way. it's a symptom you don't mind saying goodbye too. :)

My sister shared a recipe with me tonight that sounds delicious.. Cook noodles, add pizza sauce, pepperoni, sausage, cheese on top ( really whatever you like in pizza) and cook it in the oven until melted.. Sounds pretty interesting but good to me!

&& don't cut your hair! You've got gorgeous hair that I'm SO jealous of... You will regret it, promise. I cut mine and it's now in thy awkward stage,, not too short but not long enough. Ugh.

Happy Weekend! XO
Anyways, happy weekend! XO :)

Don't cut your hair while pregnant! You'll end up having one hormonal day where you just bawl your eyes out because it's gone - wait till after the baby comes and then see if you still want to chop it off.

I just cut my hair off! I donated it...so I cut off 8 inches. I LOVE it! But I do agree with "That Girl" that you may regret it, especially if you're feeling overly emotional that day. So do so with caution!

Hahaha, I say gooo for the shoes. I mean, who needs diapers, anyway?
If my feet grow when I'm pregnant... well, then, I'm screwed bc my feet are already pretty big. I'd just look like a clown.
And my crock pot is my best friend. I hate cooking, but have managed to cook almost every night because I put it all in the crockpot in the a.m. before work.

About dinners: I have recently discovered the art of making WAY too much, and freezing it. Sometimes, I make an extra big casserole and freeze up to four more portions for the next time I don't feel like cooking, I just reheat :)

About feet: Mine have grown 2 sizes in the pregnancy. Just sayin'

My feet have been killing me as well. I'm told it's my arches shifting under my growing body. I haven't even gained much weight and they're already murderous. I suspect you're going through the same thing? Good luck! Elevating them at the end of the day helps but just wear super supportive shoes!!!

Don't cut your hair until after you have the baby. You usually regret. I waited until after Jaxon was almost 6 months old and I was glad I waited. Meal planning is always hard when you are pregnant, so good luck. Right now my favorite recipe is black beans and corn quesadillas. They are yummy and super easy and take very little time to make. If you're still craving red meat you could do hamburgers or steak fajitas.

I have cut all my hair off twice and I love it both ways! I can definitely do more with my long hair though! {and I felt that the short hair is alot more effort}

I love quick recipes like homemade pizzas, or nachos with ground beef. I also am trying more crockpot recipes - try this site!

You can definitely buy new shoes! No need to be in pain ;) I'd say don't cut your hair, but it might grow back faster with all the hormones you've got going on!

Maybe once the baby comes you can change it up and go short!

So I'm not a PT, but I have had problems with my SI joint (which causes many a problems with girls when their pregnant) aka sciatica. Stretching will help (Hip flexors, IT band, hamstrings, quad), or they also have a pregnancy band that you can get at the maternity stores that help keep your hips together. I'm not pregnant but that's what my PTA told me when I was doing physical therapy for it. :) Hope that helps!
